Coppola Services was awarded this project which included the full layout and mechanical installation of piping, valves and appurtenances for a twin 135 HP/15,300 GPM submersible pump stormwater pumping station.
The installation consisted of dual 48” diameter by 29 vertical foot carbon steel stormwater pump tubes with formed suction intakes and 36” diameter welded discharge piping within the wet well. Valve chamber mechanical installation included 36” diameter self-restraining transition couplings, flanged pipe, check valves, actuated knife-gate isolation valves and reinforced concrete piers to support each 14,000 lb check valve.
A twin 6” diameter low-flow submersible system was added during the project and allowed for the layout and installation of two (2) 870 GPM submersible pumps and appurtenances that mirror the main pump station. Installation was completed within 17 days from the start of construction.
