Coppola Services constructed a new influent screening facility within the confines of an existing site, while maintaining all existing operations throughout the duration of the contract.
The project consisted of the construction of a new influent concrete structure, influent chamber, automatic barscreen, manual bar rack bypass channel, effluent chamber, chemical feed modifications, electrical upgrades and site modifications.
The new facility was constructed adjacent to existing structures and piping, and the tie in to the new facility was performed by carefully scheduling the work, shutdowns and bypassing to ensure all existing flows and operations were maintained.
As the influent facility feeds three existing plants onsite, the switchover and scheduling of the tie in sequence was critical, required detailed planning, and was executed without issue due to the diligence of Coppola project management, field staff and the cooperation with the owner and engineer.
